Dr. Alan DeJarnatt joined Family Allergy & Asthma in 2019 and has provided trusted medical care for the patients of West Tennessee for nearly three decades. He sees patients at our Jackson, TN location, where he founded Jackson Allergy & Asthma Clinic in 2018 before bringing his practice into the Family Allergy & Asthma network. He is currently accepting new patients.

A native Tennessean, Dr. DeJarnatt was born and raised in Fayetteville, Lincoln County. He earned his degree in Biology from Abilene Christian University, then completed his medical training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in Memphis. Following a three-year residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, affiliated with Texas A&M University, he went on to complete a two-year specialty fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, one of the nation’s leading academic health centers for immunology research.

With nearly 40 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. DeJarnatt brings a depth of knowledge that few allergists can match. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Allergy & Immunology, and he is affiliated with Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Henry County Medical Center, and Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis.

Dr. DeJarnatt has extensive experience in clinical research and has contributed to published studies in prestigious peer-reviewed journals, including The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and the American Journal of Therapeutics. His research includes groundbreaking work on allergy skin testing devices and studies on blocking late-phase allergic inflammation, findings that have directly influenced how allergists diagnose and treat patients today. Beyond the lab, he enjoys lecturing on topics related to allergy, sharing his expertise with fellow medical professionals to advance patient care across the field.

Dr. DeJarnatt specializes in the full spectrum of allergic and immunologic conditions, with particular expertise in environmental allergies, chronic sinusitis, venom allergies, and desensitization therapy. He cares for patients of all ages, from pediatric to adult, and is dedicated to helping every patient find lasting relief.
